Mission 101 - March 2015 update

Goals completed:

All goals involving clearing stuff out of my mum’s house had to be completed in March, as she (and I) moved house at the beginning of April:

23. Get rid of clothes I haven’t worn in the last year
24. Clear out wardrobe at my mum’s house
25. Clear out chest at my mum’s house
26. Get rid of books I’ve already read and don’t intend to reread at my mum’s house

It feels a bit like cheating to have these as four separate goals, so I may combine them into one.

Goals in progress:

27. Get rid of the old DVDs and CDs at my mum’s house and sell them on Music Magpie – I’ve sent them to Music Magpie but the cheque hasn’t turned up yet.

72. Donate 1,000,000 grains at http://freerice.com (107,000/1,000,000) – 18,000 grains donated in March. I was aiming to donate an average of 1,000 grains a day but I suddenly kept getting messages telling me the banner ads were blocked. As the ads pay for the rice, playing on freerice.com seemed pretty pointless until I could unblock them. After spending ages pointlessly fiddling with my security settings, I eventually figured out that logging on via Facebook goes some way to solving the problem.

93. Read 100 books by authors I haven’t read (4/100)
14.3.15: Finished How to be a Woman by Caitlin Moran

Excellent goals and excellent results!

Decluttering was so much easier before we had kids. Partly because I need extended time alone to really do it, and the family as a whole will not leave.

I like your 100 books by authors-you-haven't-read goal. Is that a multi-year one? 100 books in a year would be a challenge even for my son, who reads at lightning speed.

Thank you!

Mission 101 is a list of goals to be completed in 1,001 days - so I have around 2 1/2 years to do it. I could just about do 100 books in a year (I read about 2 books a week) but it's the "authors I haven't read" part that makes it difficult as I tend to go back to the same authors.
